Currently, we are seeking qualified candidates for an Operations Manager - Support position to join our Whirlpool - Clyde Operations Team.

Function Overview:

This position will provide leadership in the decision-making of the Operations.
You will lead an operations function by integrating world-class manufacturing and business processes with existing maintenance information systems designed to accelerate best practices.
You must have a proven track record of increasing the plant's equipment availability and installing/using KPI's (key performance indicators) to monitor progress.
Experience with operational aspects of capital equipment implementation and SAP knowledge is a plus, along with demonstrated knowledge of fabrication operations (key processes include stamping, welding, forming, and joining).
You must have the ability to interact well with all levels of the organization, outside entities, and technical personnel (including setup, maintenance mechanics and electricians, tool and die makers, engineering technicians, and engineers).
The position is responsible for managing processes and people to meet production, quality, safety, and environmental standards and to meet.
internal / external customer demand.


Responsibilities:

  • Drive safety, quality, delivery, and productivity of the department and Operations through effective leadership
  • Assist in the development and lead the execution of Operational Strategic Initiatives in your area of responsibility
  • Provide direction to the team to focus on key results areas.
    Educate key decision-makers
  • Champion diversity and inclusion behaviors.
  • Proactively seek and value all types of diversity and work to bring out the contributions of everyone.
  • Actively coach and provide feedback to peers, subordinates, and others as appropriate
  • Build organizational capability through proactive coaching of the direct reports on skill-building and career development
  • Proactively collaborate with peers within Clyde and at other Whirlpool manufacturing locations, Product business teams, Brand, channel/Corporate Technology, and Finance organization and leverage enterprise-wide expertise
  • Proactively drive World Class Manufacturing initiatives in assigned areas using WCM Pillar Methods, including but not limited to:
    Safety, Quality Control, Workplace Organization, Autonomous Maintenance, Quality Control, and others.
  • Manage all financial aspects of the business units.
  • Drive for a regular pipeline of cost improvement projects for your areas of responsibility.
    In partnership with Operations and Technical leaders, translate business losses into project ideas.
  • Manage an annual budget of over $1M in Maintenance and Material spend and an organization of approximately 100 employees.

Basic
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s Degree
  • 5
    years of experience in a manufacturing environment

Preferred
Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to successfully lead a staff of engineering and operational professionals
  • Ability to create a stable manufacturing environment through understanding of customer demand and production capacity, creating direct flow where possible, and establishing logical inventory levels where pull systems are required.
  • Ability to establish minimum inventory levels by part number and reaction / escalation strategies as required.
  • Proven success driving (World Class Manufacturing) WCM principles and philosophies.
  • Ability to apply basic root cause analysis and ensure resulting actions are driven to closure.
  • Experience driving Operational Excellence (Six Sigma) initiatives, especially selective sampling and measurement tools.
  • Proven ability to improve operations within established quality systems
  • Competent on PC and mainframe applications related to responsibilities
  • Confidence and willingness to take calculated risks, implement new ideas, drive for results and sustain change
  • Basic Understanding of fabrication processes and equipment, automatic storage and retrieval systems, conveyance systems, including understanding of assembly flow, pull, and buffering.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide an engaging work environment
  • Champion for challenging existing practices
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to manage conflict to a resolution
  • Effective management of priorities, expectations, and accountabilities
  • Proven record of attracting and developing talented people and effectively allocating and utilizing resources
