JOB SUMMARY To sample, test and evaluate raw ingredients and packaging materials, and finished product, to ensure they meet both our customer's and Wyandot's quality standards.
To support and assist other departments as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for sampling, testing and other activities related to the evaluation of incoming ingredients, materials, and product, making sure it conforms to predetermined standards.
Responsible for recommending corrective measures for actions and/or correcting basic problems, placing on hold for disposition, or rejection of ingredients, materials or finished product which may not meet the predetermined standards.
Must be able to work with minimum supervision.
Must be able to work overtime as required.
Must abide by all plant rules and regulations, including but not limited to work, safety and sanitation rules.
Housekeeping and cleaning is a requirement.
Follow all GMP and Food Safety Regulations.
Maintain a safe work environment.
DUTIES 1.
Perform sampling and testing of raw and packaging materials, raw ingredients and finished product.
2.
Performs machine set up audits to ensure the accuracy of our finished products.
3.
Supports, assists, and communicates with other departments to insure the raw ingredients, materials and finished product comply with our specifications and cause no food safety hazards in the plant.
4.
Secure samples (raw ingredients, materials and/or finished product as required).
5.
Determine compliance of incoming materials, ingredients and finished products in production with all applicable federal, state and local regulations, including codes, prices and stickers/labels on cartons and products.
6.
Keeps the database up to date on all raw ingredients, materials, finished goods and machine weight audits.
7.
Must be able to enter data into the computer accurately.
Maintain 5S boards.
8.
Performs metal detector checks and calibrations on laboratory instruments to ensure they are operating correctly to meet our specifications.
9.
Assists production in trouble shooting when an out-of-control situation exists.
10.
Performs calibration of testing equipment.
11.
Prepares/updates specifications for incoming ingredients, materials, and finished products, including the package.
12.
Conducts ongoing shelf life evaluation of finished products.
13.
Assists with R & D of new products, seasonings, raw ingredients and materials.
14.
Assist with start-up/changeover inspections, cleaning, and allergen validations, and EMP swabbing.
15.
Able to perform glass and brittle inspections, hold dispositions, pulling retains and environmental swabbing, weighing ingredients.
16.
Performs other duties as assigned.
WORK ENVIRONMENT Must have good judgement and decision-making skills.
Must be able to withstand pressure resulting from constant changing of priorities.
Requires the manual skill and dexterity to move around heavy machinery throughout the plant.
Must be detail oriented.
Interfaces with Production, Sanitation, Maintenance, Warehouse, Purchasing and Customer Service Departments.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Must be able to work well with co-workers and supervision in a team environment.
A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
Must have good high school math skills.
Previous Quality Assurance experience and computer knowledge a must.
Chemistry background beneficial.
Must be able to access, input and retrieve information from a computer.
Must be able to read and communicate English clearly in both verbal and written form.
Earplugs and safety shoes are mandatory in designated areas.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
